Library Services

CSM Libraries provide:

• Access to academic databases (for articles, journals, and ebooks), from on and off campus
• Library catalog (borrow books or use materials your professor put on reserve)
• Interlibrary Loan services (request articles and books we don’t own)
• CSM Student ID Cards
• Research help (choosing a topic, finding journal articles, citing sources, and more)

Librarians also teach information literacy skills to help you:

• Understand different types of information sources, and appropriate contexts for different sources
• Critically analyze and evaluate information in multiple formats
• Build your research skills in order to find, evaluate, use, and create information

Library guides (also called LibGuides or research guides) are resources created by your friendly librarians to help you with research.

Subject Guides

provide an overview for getting started in researching specific subjects including suggested keywords and databases

Course Guides

provide resources for specific courses at CSM, often including tips directly related to your assignments

Citation Guides

guidance and resources for citing sources in APA Style, other citation styles, avoiding plagiarism, and using NoodleTools

Other Guides

information about specific types of sources (such as empirical research), types of assignments (such as annotated bibliographies), general research help, and database tutorials
