Staff

The main key to successful archival research is getting the archivist to help you. Just as you need subject knowledge before beginning your research, it is important to understand the archivist's subject knowledge, too.

Asking the right questions is key to getting good answers. Reach out to the archivist if you need help on getting started! Some ideas include:

  • Give us a brief background of your research topic, including key names, places, or dates of interest.
  • Tell us where you’ve already been, such as other institutions, databases, or reference materials.
  • Tell us the goal of your research visit, small or large, so we can make the most of your time in the archive.
