Southern Maryland Studies Center

The Southern Maryland Studies Center is an archival repository and research center that seeks to collect, preserve, and provide access to materials documenting the history and culture of Southern Maryland.

Maryland Collection Resources

The Maryland Collection contains printed and published materials, including:

  • books
  • newspapers
  • periodicals
  • microfilm records (state and federal census records, newspapers, colonial records, and church records)

The Maryland Book Collection, housed in the Southern Maryland Studies Center Reading Room, is available to browse during open hours or by request. The collection includes over 3,000 volumes related to the Southern Maryland region on a variety of topics.
